Marc began his legal career as a prosecutor in 1979. However, shortly thereafter he was appointed as the Legal Advisor to the Chief of Police of the Aurora Police Department. Marc ultimately became the Director of the Civil Litigation Section of the Aurora City Attorney's Office, personally focusing primarily on the defense of claims asserted against the City of Aurora's law enforcement employees.

In 1983 Marc left the City of Aurora to join Louis and David Bruno, who provided similar services in a private capacity for the Denver Police Protective Association. The law firm of Bruno, Bruno and Colin was founded in 1984. Since that time, Marc has represented municipal, county, state and federal law enforcement employees in the defense of civil rights suits, internal investigations and duty related criminal matters throughout the State of Colorado. Over the past 30 years, Marc has also responded to more than 400 "Critical Incidents", drafted law enforcement related legislation as well as policies and procedures for a variety of law enforcement agencies, and instructed at numerous police training academies. He has been invited to testify before the United States Congress and has appeared as a witness in a variety of Colorado House and Senate hearings on law enforcement related legislation. Marc has been married to his wife Cher for almost 35 years and they have a son and a daughter, both of whom are currently attending college here in Colorado.
